The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) is taking bold steps to update and secure Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) emergency response systems. New technology offers new challenges and new opportunities for emergency services in discharging their critical duties. Eonti is proud to be a part of the solution, creating a safer, more connected world.
NENA has selected an active approach to the next generation of 9-1-1 emergency response. Drawing from best practices of other critical infrastructure, NENA will implement a strong, well managed Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) into NG9-1-1 in order to create a chain of trust between users for more reliable and faster validation, as well as emergency response.
The NG9-1-1 Interoperability Oversight Commission (NIOC) selected Eonti and DigiCert to establish a PKI for NG9-1-1. Eonti is spearheading the design and implementation of the PKI on behalf of the NIOC. In conjunction with DigiCert, Eonti will also create and implement a secure system for validating and operating the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Credentialing Agency.
